Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

Rebuilding the Walls of Our Nation

Nov 3, 2026

Because of wonderful friends like you, Faith & Liberty recently had the privilege of serving as a strategic partner in a remarkable 52-day national prayer initiative. Inspired by the biblical account of Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls in just 52 days, the Nehemiah Alliance ran from September 10 through November 1. Believers from all 50 states and more than 100 nations united in prayer, fasting, repentance, and worship, asking God to bring spiritual renewal to our families, churches, communities, and nation.

The movement culminated this past weekend with a powerful Sacred Assembly on Reformation Day on the National Mall. But before that gathering began, leaders and participants met Friday evening at the Museum of the Bible for a special time of preparation. Christian artist Leeland led worship, and Summer Ingram of Liberty Counsel guided attendees in prayer before communion.

KNEELING BEFORE THE LORD

Prayer leader Lou Engle challenged everyone to begin with personal repentance, reminding us that true revival starts in our own hearts. Together, leaders knelt before the Lord in humility, following Nehemiah’s example of confession, fasting, and prayer before undertaking the work God had called him to do.

On Saturday, volunteers, including members of the Faith & Liberty team, arrived before dawn to prepare for a day that would last more than 15 hours. The Sacred Assembly brought together thousands for prayer, worship, repentance, and encouragement. Faith & Liberty was honored not only to participate but also for Lindsey Cruz to lead in prayer during the event. Jonathan Alexandre and Summer Ingram also spoke and prayed at the gathering, representing our sister ministry, Liberty Counsel. Summer served as the national director of Nehemiah Alliance, which, from start to finish, was a yearlong initiative.

Many respected Christian leaders and speakers participated, including Nick Vujicic, Dr. Alveda King, Sam Sorbo, Bunni Pounds, Jenny Donnelly, Cindy Jacobs, Liz Doyle, James Goll, and others. Speaker Mike Johnson shared remarks by video, and President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump sent greetings and encouragement. The day concluded with a moving time of worship led by Michael W. Smith, creating a fitting ending to a historic gathering focused on seeking God's presence and direction for our nation.

The vision of the initiative was simple but powerful:

52 Days. One Body. One Cry. One God.
Rebuild. Restore. Renew.

AMAZING FRUIT

Perhaps the most encouraging report of all was that more than 200,000 people indicated decisions to follow Christ or recommit their lives to Him during the campaign. We praise God for every life touched and every heart drawn closer to Him.

For Faith & Liberty, it was both humbling and inspiring to help lead a movement that united believers across denominational, geographic, and cultural lines in prayer for America. While the 52 days have concluded, the work of rebuilding and renewing our nation continues.

Every day on Capitol Hill, we remain committed to sharing the Gospel, discipling leaders, mentoring young staff, hosting Bible studies, encouraging elected officials, defending religious freedom, and calling our nation back to God.

King’s Church continues its Equip class at the Ministry Center on how to live out the Christian faith while working in government, and we joined in the virtual Senate Chaplain’s Bible Study with Chaplain Barry C. Black.
  • Rebuilding the walls: As noted above, we participated in Nehemiah Alliance’s 52 days of unified prayer, fasting, and repentance for our nation, and the Sacred Assembly on the National Mall. We were privileged to share a prayer during the all-day event on Saturday.
