Inviting staffers to pray: Faith & Liberty hosted another Open House for private prayer in the Cannon House Office Building last week. It was a blessing to pray with those who stopped by! We are asking that God will continue to use us to pray for the needs and concerns of interns, staffers, and anyone else on Capitol Hill.
Encouraging young faith: We attended a Hill Ministries luncheon with Stephen Minnis, president of Benedictine College, addressing the faith of Generation Z. The speaker addressed the question of whether we are seeing a genuine movement toward faith in Gen Z and shared practical ways to reach them with the Gospel. He encouraged us to lean into their hard questions, equip them in their faith, establish consistent weekly rhythms of Bible study and service, and unite them around a shared mission.

Rebuilding the walls: We are participating in Nehemiah Alliance’s 52 days of unified prayer, fasting, and repentance. This season of focused prayer is an opportunity to seek the Lord for our nation, our leaders, and spiritual renewal in our nation's capital. It will end Nov. 1, and a Sacred Assembly will be held on the National Mall on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Reading God’s Word: As noted above, the U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon outside the Capitol Building will be held 24 hours a day nonstop from Saturday through Wednesday, Oct. 24-28.
Digging into God’s Word: Pray for the leaders of our Bible studies and that many who work on Capitol Hill will participate, understand the Gospel, and fully turn their hearts to our Lord Jesus. Another Equip class will also be held this week at the Ministry Center on how to live out the Christian faith while working in government.

Studying together: We participated in Senate Chaplain Barry Black’s virtual Bible study while Congress is in recess. We had a great discussion on how faith changes our perspectives (2 Corinthians 5:7), our relationships (Colossians 3:13-14), our response to adversity (James 1:2-3), and much more.
Celebrating life: This week, we will host a pastors’ breakfast with the Love Life organization at the Ministry Center. Love Life is a ministry that seeks to end abortion and the orphan crisis, so we count it a blessing to partner with them to reach pastors and churches.
Meeting faith leaders: Faith & Liberty’s Patty Bills will attend the National Clergy Council event on Nov. 4. Pastors from across the country will come for this gathering.
Mentoring meet-ups: We thoroughly enjoy meeting with and mentoring young people here on Capitol Hill. We value your prayers for these important one-on-one conversations and prayer times.
Honoring Christian women: Planning is in full swing as we continue coordinating details for the Congressional Women’s Appreciation Prayer Breakfast and the She Leads Tea in mid-November.
Presenting the Christmas story: We are connecting with churches and moving full speed ahead for our Live Nativity to be held Thursday, Dec. 3. Pray for us as we juggle all the logistics!
