Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Oct 6, 2026
Our Ministry Center was a lively place last week with many visitors in town and special events to host! All to equip believers and lead people closer to Christ.
On Thursday, we hosted a networking and prayer gathering with about 45 local and national prayer and ministry leaders. Faith & Liberty's Lindsey Cruz and Patty Bills did a lot of behind-the-scenes work for this kick-off reception and other events. Lindsey was also out on the Hill with prayer groups at different times.

On Friday, we hosted our Commission of Congress dinner with over 55 people at the Ministry Center. Faith & Liberty's Patty Bills and members of other Hill ministries spoke during this time, and we had a special speaker from a sister ministry of ours. Jonathan Alexandre certainly had the attention of the group as he spoke both eloquently and practically of what it's like to work on Capitol Hill — keeping up the daily grind, enduring long hours, seeking to help people in need, persevering in the quest for good policy, feeling the quiet fear of getting something wrong, working under strained relationships yet serving faithfully under pressure — building, serving, making somebody's life better.

There is so much to ponder from Jonathan's well-prepared talk, but we'll leave you with just a few more thoughts:
First, this reminder: "We are called to use what we’ve been given for His glory and for the good of others."
Second, his call to place our trust in God amid daily challenges:
"We need the old, steady faith.
"The faith that says, 'I may not know how this vote will turn out — but I know who holds tomorrow.'
"The faith that says, 'I may be surrounded by pressure — but the Lord is still my shepherd.'
"The faith that says, 'I may be tired — but I will not bury what God put in my hands.'”
No matter our place of work or service, Jonathan gave us all something to keep thinking about long after he left the podium.
Another focus of the week was praying over all three branches of government. One of the highlights was the rare opportunity we had to visit and pray at the offices of federal agencies in the executive branch, including the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Commerce, Department of State, and Department of Agriculture. At the VA, we were privileged to meet with and hear from Janna Bowman, executive director of the Center for Faith within the Office of the Secretary.

There is so much more to tell and we'll share more next week — including the news of a surprise award one of our team members received!
So much was packed into these few days, and we were thankful Faith & Liberty could either host or participate in these important events on Capitol Hill, thanks to you, our supporters, who make it possible for us to have a strong presence in the heart of our nation's capital.
