Prayer over all three branches of government will be a strong focus for Faith & Liberty this coming week.  

It all starts Thursday evening at the Ministry Center with a networking and prayer gathering with local and national prayer and ministry leaders. Faith & Liberty's Patty Bills will address this group, and Lindsey Cruz will be out on the Hill with various prayer groups.  

On Friday evening, we will host our Commission of Congress dinner at the Ministry Center. We look forward to hearing our exceptional colleague from a sister ministry,  Jonathan Alexandre, speak during this special occasion.   

Sunday, Faith & Liberty will host around 60 people at the Ministry Center for a service with a private communion event later that evening in front of the U.S. Supreme Court with around 150 attending. The Sunday event kicks off the National Consecration of the Courts. More on that later! 

We'll fill in the details next week but trust you will be with us in spirit along the way as we focus on prayer for all three branches of government. There are so many things to pray for, but here are a few for this week:  

  • Wisdom and guidance for our leaders. 
  • Honesty and integrity. 
  • Protection from temptation and selfish ambition. 
  • Refreshing from the Lord for all who seek to follow Christ. 
  • God’s will to be done in upcoming elections. 
  • God’s priorities to prevail in our nation.

  • Protecting women in sports: We attended a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing and press conference, “Standing Up for Women in Sports: Ensuring Opportunity, Fairness, and Safety for Female Athletes.” We prayed over and during the hearing (Sens. Darline Graham, Ashley Moody, Katie Britt, Marsha Blackburn pictured). 

  • Serving the church: A church group from North Carolina visited us to learn more about the ministry of Faith & Liberty. We also prayed with them around Capitol Hill, toured the Capitol, and met with and prayed for U.S. House Chaplain Margaret Kibben. We also welcomed another women’s ministry to the Ministry Center last weekend for prayer and worship. 

  • Focusing on Congress: We will host our Commission of Congress dinner at the Ministry Center with our colleague Jonathan Alexandre speaking.  

  • Consecrating the courts: We will participate in the National Consecration of the Courts early next week. This is a sacred gathering of prayer and intercession. 

  • Rebuilding the walls: The Nehemiah Alliance’s 52 days of unified prayer, fasting, and repentance has begun, and we are participating. This season of focused prayer is an opportunity to seek the Lord for our nation, our leaders, and spiritual renewal in our nation's capital. 

  • Studying the Word: Pray for the leaders of our Bible studies and that many who work on Capitol Hill will participate, understand the Gospel, and fully turn their hearts to our Lord Jesus. 

  • Interceding for America: Eagles of Fire will bring the fire Saturday evening to our Ministry Center as they hold their monthly intercessory prayer meeting.

  • Mentoring meet-ups: We thoroughly enjoy meeting with and mentoring young people here on Capitol Hill. We value your prayers for these important one-on-one conversations and prayer times.

  • Planning for events: We continue our preparation for upcoming events, including the Bible Reading Marathon outside the Capitol in October, a pastors’ breakfast with Love Life Ministries, the Congressional Women’s Appreciation Prayer Breakfast, and the She Leads America tea and award ceremony. 

  • Preparing for Christmas: The holidays will soon be here in all of their glory! We are connecting with many churches and are working full speed ahead for our Live Nativity. Pray for us as we juggle all the permits and details and look for a praise band to participate in the event.
