Labor Day Cookout Draws Crowd!

Hungry interns and staffers descended on the Ministry Center yesterday as Faith & Liberty hosted a Labor Day barbecue cookout. Attendees included some able burger chefs, sparing us that duty so we were able to enjoy connecting with these wonderful young people who have such bright futures ahead. 

Our aim is to introduce them to Jesus, to nurture their spiritual growth, and to help them become people who can bring a biblical worldview to the policy debates on Capitol Hill.

Ministry Center weekend activities included a pop-up game night on Friday night, and the Eagles of Fire ministry also had its monthly prayer gathering to intercede for the capital, our nation, our leaders, and much more. We’re certainly grateful for those who are faithful in prayer. 


We have an evening Bible study starting this week for men and women, and we look forward to seeing who will attend. Please pray with us as we continually reach out and invite the interns and staffers working on Capitol Hill to study God’s Word and enjoy each other’s fellowship.

  • Studying the Word: More Bible studies and classes are starting soon, including this week. Pray that they will be effective in leading those who serve on Capitol Hill to fully submit their lives to the Lord as many have already!

  • Protecting families: Faith & Liberty was present at last Tuesday’s Health & Human Services Live Real Life Symposium. The symposium addressed how children can have a healthier childhood and addressed the harms of screen time in children. RFK Jr. and Dr. Oz both spoke at the event on these topics that impact today’s families and future generations.

  • Events abound! We continue our preparation for upcoming events, including the 24-hour Bible Reading Marathon outside the Capitol in October, the Congressional Women’s Prayer Breakfast, the Consecration of the Courts’ private communion event, a pastors’ breakfast with Love Life Ministries, the Live Nativity, and much more.

  • Prayer Open House: We are grateful for the opportunity to have prayer meetings on the Hill, thanks to House Chaplain Margaret Kibben reserving a room for this purpose. We have an open invitation to anyone who would like to be prayed for concerning any need.

  • Mentoring meet-ups: We thoroughly enjoy meeting with and mentoring young people here on Capitol Hill. We value your prayers for these important one-on-one conversations and prayer times.

  • America 250: Believers who are committed to praying for our country are invited to come together weekly at our Ministry Center for the America 250 prayer time. We gather to intercede for the nation’s capital and the government leaders called upon to make critical decisions on behalf of the American people.
