Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Jul 28, 2026
Pastor Ezra Jin, founder of Beijing Zion Church, won his independence this month, arriving in Los Angeles on July 4 upon his release after months of detention in his homeland. Faith & Liberty was blessed to have been able to stand with and pray with his daughter, Grace Jin Drexel, while she was on Capitol Hill.
Faith & Liberty advocated for Grace’s father’s release and participated in several meetings in which this was discussed. We joined other faith leaders in prayer for Pastor Jin’s release from prison in China.
At the time, Grace was expecting a child. Now, Faith & Liberty is grateful Pastor Jin is finally reunited with his family and has even met his newest grandchild! We were able to greet them all this past Wednesday!

Chinese officials reportedly informed the house church pastor that his release resulted from discussions between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Christians around the world had been praying for his freedom.
“He and 17 other leaders of the underground Zion Church were detained in October in one of China’s largest crackdowns on a single church in decades,” according to the Associated Press.
Please join Faith & Liberty in praying for the other church leaders still in prison, and for continued wisdom for the officials working on their behalf. Pray, too, that the Gospel would go forth in power in China and the U.S.!
Today, we are also attending Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral at the Washington National Cathedral. These times of remembrance can be both sad and glad, but anyone's passing can cause us to reflect on our own life and consider the afterlife. Sen. Graham left this life while working to serve his country. As we consider matters of life and death, pray that we are able to have some conversations pointing to the hope of the Gospel.
Thank you for your earnest prayers and support for this vital ministry on Capitol Hill! Your ongoing and much-appreciated generosity takes this outreach forward.
