Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital

The Faith & Liberty Monday Report

Dec 23, 2024

December 5 was the big day for our Live Nativity on Capitol Hill! Many people took time out to watch the unfolding of the scene: Bible characters in handsewn period costumes, an array of animals walking toward the Supreme Court, and angels rejoicing over the newborn baby Jesus who came to earth to set us free! This event is certainly one of the highlights of our year as a special opportunity to testify of what God has done for us.

If you haven’t been able to watch the presentation yet, you can still view it on our Facebook page at Faith & Liberty | Facebook.

MONDAY RECAP
  • Peggy Nienaber met with the Aglow International group last week. This was a new group that came to DC to meet with ministries on Capitol Hill.

  • Peggy also attended Advent Services held in the U.S. Capitol by Chaplain Margaret G. Kibben, who is the chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives.

  • Patty Bills and Peggy participated in organizing a conference call to plan for the January 2025 events and programs.

COMING SOON
  • On Jan. 20, the morning of the presidential inauguration, our team will be helping two other ministries hand out 50,000 Bibles for those attending the ceremony.

  • We will also host a meet-and-greet for Faith & Liberty supporters coming for the inauguration. Let us know if you will be in Washington for the festivities around the presidential inauguration and can stop by the Ministry Center. Please call Patty Bills at 202-737-1776 or email her at [email protected].

  • Peggy Nienaber will be meeting with new members of Congress after they have been sworn into office. This will give us time to pray with them and invite their staffers to our Bible studies and events held at the Ministry Center.

  • During inauguration week, we have our pro-life events (as we usually do in January). Stay tuned for more on those activities, including our LIFE Reception and Prayers & Remembrance — Victims of Roe as we remember the preborn with prayer and 3,000 flowers laid in front of the Supreme Court.

PRAYER POINTS

Pray that our Ministry Center would continue to serve as a home away from home for interns and congressional staffers, especially at Christmastime.

Continue to pray that the message of our Live Nativity will resonate in the hearts and minds of our leaders who serve in Washington, D.C., and with many others who saw the event in person or online.

Pray for God’s protection and blessing over January activities, including Bible distribution at the inauguration and our pro-life memorial and reception.

Thank the Lord for our Bible studies and pray for new studies to start in the new year!

Praise the Lord for peace and security on Capitol Hill. Pray for the outgoing and incoming administrations as they end and start their terms, respectively.
