Transforming lives with Good News in the Nation’s Capital
Dec 19, 2024
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In this season of thanksgiving and celebration of our Lord and Savior’s birth, we want to take the time to reflect on the multitude of blessings that Faith & Liberty has witnessed this year — all made possible by generous gifts from supporters like you. From our weekly Bible studies to special outreach events and fellowship gatherings, we’ve continually encountered the presence of God and shared His love with those on Capitol Hill and beyond.
2024 in Review
This year, we’ve seen momentous wins in our country, and the same is true here at Faith & Liberty! The year 2024 has truly been a year of answered prayers as we’ve had the opportunity to witness and fellowship with individuals on Capitol Hill and pour into their spiritual lives!
Here are just a handful of the different events and fellowship opportunities in which we’ve been involved:
Hosting receptions, dinners and patio gatherings to share the love of Christ through the blessing of meals and fellowship with members of Congress, interns and congressional staff.
Leading Remembering the Preborn: Prayer and Flower Vigil. This special memorial takes place each year in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. Our team lays over 3,000 flowers in memory of babies aborted each day.
Leading a Congressional Women’s Bible Study and Prayer each week. This allows for spiritual growth through study and prayer to help these leaders with the day-to-day demands of serving on Capitol Hill.
Meeting for one-on-one prayer with individual members of Congress and their staff.
Holding Congressional Bible Reading Marathon in the U.S. House chaplain's office.
Orchestrating volunteer opportunities to support pro-life ministries on Capitol Hill.
Honoring law enforcement at the U.S. Capitol Police Officer of the Year Recognition Breakfast at the Capitol.
Sharing about Faith & Liberty with many visitors to our Ministry Center, along with visiting interns and students from mission groups, giving them an opportunity to visit some offices on Capitol Hill to hand out Bible study invites and to pray.
Hosting guest speakers, including Tim Goeglein of Focus on the Family, Melissa Ohden, an abortion survivor, Abby Johnson, a pro-life advocate, and many more!
Studying the Gospel of John and other books of the Bible during our Bible studies, where we fellowshipped with 100-150 individuals each week.
Hosting a table during the Congressional Ministry Fair, giving Faith & Liberty the opportunity to share about what we do on Capitol Hill.
Participating in the US Capitol Bible Reading Marathon on the West lawn of the Capitol, where we — and many volunteers — read the Bible continuously for 90 hours.
Opening the Values Action Summit in prayer for the group and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
Holding a Good Friday service this year, as we have for 20 years, on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
Holding a prayer rally despite the mob of pro-abortion protesters as the Supreme Court heard oral argument on abortion.
Praising the Lord with 30-40 young adults during our pop-up worship nights.
Holding 24-hour prayer nights, where we had different young adults praying for our country, the nation’s capital, and president every 30 minutes.
Holding quarterly events at our Ministry Center, including events with She Leads America, which brought in 125 women.
Presenting the Christmas story through our Live Nativity.
Faith & Liberty was able to accomplish all this and so much more, thanks to the support of donors like you. From everyone at the ministry, thank you for your heart to bring faith, fellowship, and the good news of Christ to the capital. Hearts are truly being changed, and our nation is being shaped thanks to these efforts.
Looking to 2025
With the New Year comes fresh opportunities to serve as the hands and feet of Christ in our nation’s capital. Will you join our mission?
When you make a gift to Faith & Liberty, you’re helping fund our core ministry efforts, which include these:
Bible studies that help individuals go deeper in God’s Word.
Bible reading marathons that ensure the Word of God reaches members of Congress, staffers, and interns.
Special events that allow us to connect and fellowship, including sports, community activities, and more!
Live Nativity that brings the Good News to Capitol Hill through a live presentation every year at Christmastime.
And so much more!
Thank you for standing with us at Faith & Liberty. Together, we will continue to challenge our leaders to walk and act in ways that embrace the righteousness of God, resulting in God’s blessing upon our nation. And we will continue to encourage and disciple the young Capitol Hill staffers and interns who play such a vital role in the federal government.
