Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee began the confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. The process will last until next Thursday, October 22. The questioning of Judge Barrett will begin on Tuesday, October 13, while testimonies by legal experts and acquaintances of Judge Barrett will begin on Thursday, October 15.
Greg Cox and I, along with a gathering of Christian intercessory prayer leaders, joined together in front of the U.S. Supreme Court from 12:00PM to 12:45PM today to pray for Judge Barrett, her family, and the U.S. Senate during this process. Thank you to those who joined us live on Facebook. Judge Barrett extended her gratitude for the spiritual covering.
Our team will continue to oversee and intercede for the hearings until the end. Please voice your support by signing our petition and faxing the Senate directly.
In Christ,
Peggy Nienaber, Vice President
The Monday Recap
Here are just a few of our activities over the last few days:
- Organized Faith & Liberty’s Intercessory Prayer Service from noon to 12:45 p.m. ET today outside the U.S. Supreme Court for the confirmation hearings of Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
- Prepared resources such as signs and t-shirts for our teams
- 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 20th anniversary of the U.N. Trafficking in Persons Palermo Protocol. In honor of this landmark occasion, the Government of the United States of America, the Government of Peru, and the Government of Sierra Leone co-hosted a virtual panel to discuss the importance of the Protocol in combating trafficking, historically and with a view toward the next 20 years.
