Making A Difference In The Nation's Capital Through Prayer And Action

Prayer Gathering

Jan 8, 2019

Two years ago, one of the first actions of the Trump administration was to prohibit tax-payer funding from going to international organizations that promote or provide abortions. We applauded that action as a big win for the culture of LIFE -- but how the times have changed in just two short years!

One of the very first acts of the new leadership in the House of Representatives was the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2019, which effectively repeals the Trump policy. It also increases abortion funding for the United National Population Fund, which participates in coercive abortions and involuntary sterilization.

Thank God this heinous law will never get past the Senate. But it indicates the pro-abortion mindset that has infected the hearts and minds of too many Members of the House. They are radically committed to an agenda that supports Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion forces.

That’s why Faith & Liberty is so critical on Capitol Hill!

Just 60 paces from the private entrance of the Supreme Court and one block from the Capitol, we are on Capitol Hill boldly proclaiming the Gospel to our nation’s public policy makers. Our mission is to bring the Word of God to bear on the hearts and minds of those who make public policy in America. Our goal is to impact their lives with Christ’s mandate in the two Greatest Commandments: Love the Lord Your God with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind, and Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.

And, next week we join hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers from around the country for the National Prayer Service! We founded this gathering years ago as a national memorial to the pre-born and their mothers and fathers, and it has become a major payer event just before the National March for Life.

If you are in DC, plan to join with scores of clergy and laity as together we cry out to God on behalf of our nation – praying for all who have been so devastated by abortion-on-demand in America. The National Prayer Service is at the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution)/Constitution Hall, right across the street from the White House, on Friday, January 18, at 8:30am.

If you cannot join us – will you commit yourself to pray on Friday, January 18, for this key event and the nation? Prayer is the most essential weapon God has given us in our battle against the principalities and powers with which we fight in this culture war!

In addition to joining us in prayer, will you take a moment now and make the most generous contribution to Faith & Liberty you can? Your gift of $25, $35, $50, $100, or more will go toward advancing LIFE here in Washington, DC, and around the nation.

Thank you for your prayers and your generous support. And THANK YOU for standing with us financially in support of your team at Faith & Liberty!

Yours for LIFE,
